Dotani tribe of South Waziristan has convened a national Jirga, pledging united resistance against the extremists, security sources reported.
The development comes after terrorists abducted and brutally killed two tribal constables, Hameed Shahid and Ashraf, from the Dotani tribe in recent days.
In response, Dotani tribal elders organized a grand tribal council and announced their firm stance to resist terrorism, sending a strong and united message to the militants.
This is not the first instance of public resistance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as people of the province have increasingly stood shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army, forming a united front against terrorist elements.
As a result of this growing public defiance, Khawarij militants are reportedly facing deep frustration. On the night of April 12, in the border region of Dera Ismail Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan, local residents repelled militant elements from their village — an act of unprecedented bravery.
Security sources say a similar gathering at that time had pledged not to allow militants into their areas.
Defense analysts describe the Dotani tribe’s recent announcement as a clear and resolute message to the militants. This bold step by brave tribal citizens marks a major setback for terrorist groups.
Public resistance across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is being hailed as a new wave of hope in the fight against terrorism.
Defense experts believe that with the people's support, terrorists will soon run out of safe havens.
The growing public alliance against Khawarij is being seen as a promising sign for Pakistan’s peaceful and secure future.
