Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in Thursday said that anyone involved in the events of May 9 alongside former spymaster Lt Gen Faiz Hameed will be considered as a beneficiary.
Reacting to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry’s comments regarding May 9 vandalism, he stated that anyone involved in the crime, whether they are planners, facilitators, or beneficiaries, will face consequences.
Speaking to Samaa TV, the minister further said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provided the manpower behind the attacks on May 9, suggesting this would not have been possible without the involvement of party leadership.
Asif went on to term the terrorists responsible for major obstacle to the development in Balochistan, adding that the terrorists are actively hindering development in the region, as progress threatens to dismantle the narrative of deprivation used to justify their actions.
“All efforts toward the region's growth are being met with resistance, but the government remains focused on overcoming these hurdles to bring prosperity to Balochistan,” he reaffirmed.
