Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the National University of Science and Technology (Nust), where he highlighted the institution’s educational excellence and underscored its contribution to scientific innovation.
The minister expressed deep interest in Nust’s modern educational facilities, teaching standards, and research centres. Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu also accompanied him during the occasion.
During the visit, the Federal Minister inaugurated the Maker Space Lab at Nust and appreciated the methodology employed by the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence.
NUST’s faculty, curriculum, teaching methodology, and laboratories for students were described by Khan as unparalleled. He remarked, “Nust is an institution equipped with modern facilities, which is the pride of the country and the nation.”
He added that students who graduated from this institution had made their country famous across the globe.
Khan also visited the Green Tech Hub and expressed satisfaction and happiness over the products manufactured there.
The minister stated, “To be on par with developed countries, we had to move forward in the field of science and technology.” He further observed that foreign students who studied at NUST were faithful to national traditions and asserted that, in terms of quality, Pakistani institutions were in no way inferior to educational institutions around the world.
He said, “This visit convinced us that our future was very bright and prosperous.”
Nust Principal and Major General Dr Saeedur Rehman delivered a detailed briefing to Khan and Ambassador Neziroglu regarding the university’s affairs.
In addition, the Federal Minister also visited the office of Turkish Aerospace Industries Pakistan situated at Nust. He held discussions with team members concerning the ongoing research and development projects in the areas such as cyber security, drone technology, and radar systems.
The Federal Minister appreciated the establishment of the Turkish Aerospace Industries Research and Development Department in Pakistan, which was promoting scientific development with the support of Nust.
