Privatisation Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on Friday acknowledged the robust economic activities between Pakistan and Central Asian countries.
According to details, Azeri Ambassador Khazar Farhadov called on Aleem Khan. On this occasion, both the leaders underscored the matters in line with the mutual interests.
Aleem Khan and the Azeri discussed the matters pertaining to the forthcoming Pak Business Forum (slated to happen on September 16 in Baku) in detail and expressed satisfaction.
"The business forum will pave the way for bringing the investors of both Pakistan and Azerbaijan further closer," said the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) president.
– Aleem Khan looks to uplift Pakistan Post –
Few days back, Aleem Khan had considered to uplift the performance of the Pakistan Post.
According to details, Aleem Khan chaired a meeting, during which he assigned the authorities with the new task to lead the Pakistan Post to progression. "The loss of Pakistan Post is not acceptable. There is a need to implement the business model."
"There is a need to work hard and put up all-out efforts to take the Pakistan Post out of the doldrums.
Aleem Khan had stressed the need for joining hands with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and other concerned institutions to generate revenue. "The Pakistan Post needs to increase its economic resources through the commercial use of its buildings," he said.
Emphasising the need for bringing the reforms in the Pakistan Post through the current requirements, Aleem Khan said: "The Pakistan Post should slash its expenses and increase the resources."
"The elements of self-reliance can be brought through clear intentions and hard work," the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) president added.
Aleem Khan had asked the Pakistan Post to provide its vacant buildings to the multinational companies (MNCs).
He maintained: "The Pakistan Post will have to increase the revenue to Rs 1.5 billion in the next six months as the Pakistan Post is facing a dire situation and there is a need to bring reforms in a short time."
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts, the Pakistan Post DG said: "The personalised stamp, automation, digitalization, and other measures have been considered.
