A crucial meeting of the Election Commission, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, failed to reach a conclusion on the implementation of the Supreme Court's decision regarding 41 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seats.
The four-hour meeting presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja discussed the Supreme Court’s directive concerning 41 reserved seats for the PTI.
Despite the lengthy discussions, no decision was reached.
The meeting focused on implementing the Supreme Court’s order, which requires independent members to join PTI, allocating the reserved seats to the party.
Members of the electoral watchdog, legal experts, and officials participated in the discussions. However, the ECP decided to seek further consultations with legal experts and will reconvene tomorrow to continue deliberations.
