Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday visited Wana in the South Waziristan District, where he was given a detailed briefing on the security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, and development projects in the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during his interaction with the officers and troops, General Munir commended their high level of readiness and strong morale in the face of threats.
He reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s steadfast commitment to neutralising the malicious activities of hostile forces and their facilitators.
The COAS paid tribute to the security forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He reiterated that the Pakistan Army would continue to provide unwavering support and technical assistance to LEAs, particularly the KPK Police, to enhance their operational capacity.
General Munir also highlighted the crucial role played by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in maintaining peace and pushing forward with projects under the South Waziristan Integrated Development Plan.
He underscored the Army’s dedication to utilising its resources for the prosperity and development of the people in the region.
In addition, he expressed gratitude to the tribal elders for their invaluable support in fighting terrorism and their continued loyalty to the Pakistan Army.
Upon his arrival, the COAS laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument to honor the martyrs. He was warmly received at Wana by Commander Peshawar Corps.
