Six terrorists have been killed and as many Pakistan Army soldiers martyred in an exchange of fire between the two sides in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the armed forces, six terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with the security forces in North Waziristan. However, Lt Col Muhammad Ali Shaukat was also martyred as well as five other soldiers in the clash.
According to the spokesman of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant Colonel Shaukat belonged to Faisalabad district. The other martyred soldiers included Lance Naik Muhammadullah of Khyber district, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman of Lakki Marwat, Lance Naik Shahidullah of Tank, Lance Naik Yousuf Ali of Orakzai district and Sepoy Jameel of Swat.

Earlier, security forces killed two terrorists and apprehended another in the Charbagh area of Swat, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation was carried out based on intelligence reports and is part of ongoing efforts to rid the country of terrorism.
According to ISPR, an exchange of fire occurred during the operation, resulting in the death of two terrorists. Among those killed was Attaullah, alias Mehran, a known terrorist involved in several high-profile attacks. Attaullah was also responsible for a landmine attack on a convoy of foreigners on September 22.
Another terrorist was injured and arrested during the clash. Security forces have intensified the search operation in the area to locate any remaining terrorists, according to ISPR.
