A heinous incident of communal violence took place during the Hindu religious festival of Durga Puja in the Indian state of Tripura.
During the clash of extremist Hindus with Muslims, a Muslim businessman was martyred while the mosque was looted.

In the name of extorting funds for Durga Puja, extremist Hindus burnt down many Muslim shops and the houses of donors. When a Muslim family objected to providing funds for Durga Puja, they were subjected to the worst violence.
According to Indian media reports, one Muslim was martyred while 17 others were seriously injured in the violence
During the looting of the mosque, extremist Hindus desecrated the religious books of Muslims and even set them on fire, Indian media said.
The incident was severely criticized by Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman.
Congress MLA Sudeep Roy Burman said: “In the presence of the Indian police, Muslim shops were looted and brutally tortured. The BJP Chief Minister of Tripura who is also the Home Minister is responsible for the violent incident.”

Analysts said the main objective of the Modi government is to turn India into a Hindutva state, which is an alarm bell for Indian Muslims
