The Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) in Punjab has established high-level committees aimed at monitoring and ensuring accountability among its officials.
According to a spokesperson from the BOR, this initiative is part of a significant effort to promote transparency and accountability within the revenue department.
The BOR's full board has approved the formation of two committees. The Accountability and Monitoring Committee One will be chaired by a senior member of the Board of Revenue, with four other members from the BOR included in its ranks.
Meanwhile, the Accountability and Monitoring Committee Two will be chaired by a member of the Tax Board of Revenue, with two additional BOR members participating.
Additionally, the Board of Revenue has decided to set up an Internal Audit Wing tasked with auditing land transfers, registrations, and other revenue collections.
This step was aimed to ensure financial transparency and effectively combat corruption within the department.
