Lahore witnessed a sharp rise in air pollution, catapulting it to the top of the global rankings for the worst air quality early morning.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) soared to a hazardous level of 232, with several areas of the city reporting figures exceeding 260. This dramatic increase in pollution has led to a thick haze enveloping the city, causing visibility issues and raising health concerns.
As pollution-related illnesses surge, Residents increasingly suffer from respiratory problems, including nose, throat, and eye irritations. Authorities have launched a smog prevention campaign, with the Environment Department and Traffic Police actively checking vehicles emitting excessive smoke at the city's key entry and exit points.
Despite these efforts, the air quality crisis continues escalating, posing significant challenges for public health and daily life in Lahore.
