She says inquiry report within 48 hours
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari claimed that the report of the alleged rape of a female student at a private college in Lahore has not been confirmed and insisted an inquiry committee will submit its findings within 48 hours.
Bukhari also condemned the spread of false information by political rivals, accusing them of using social media to incite unrest.
In a session of the Punjab Assembly, Bukhari emphasized that no evidence has been found to support the claims and urged against exploiting students for political gain.
“Students of schools and colleges are being used for political purposes, which should be avoided," she said.
The father of the student involved also denied the allegations, stating that his daughter had recently fallen down the stairs and urged the public not to speculate.
A protest erupted at the college following the news of the alleged incident, resulting in a clash between students and police.
She said 24 students and four policemen were injured during the confrontation.
