The threat of smog has started to affect the entire environment, as now the health of the plants has started to be affected.
According to details, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has initiated a major cleaning campaign for the plants and trees along Canal Road in Faisalabad, responding to the adverse effects of smog.
Due to the thick haze, the pores of trees and plants have become clogged, disrupting their natural processes of oxygen release and carbon absorption.
The authority had also started to conduct pruning and trimming activities to improve the overall growth and health of the plants.
Local residents had welcomed the initiative, acknowledging that just like humans, plants are living organisms that also need care and cleaning. “It's good to see the plants being cared for as their health is crucial for improving our environment,” one resident said.
