Addressing the Margalla Dialogue, COAS Asim Munir said the rise of violent non-state actors and state-sponsored terrorism poses a major threat to global stability.
Freedom of speech without boundaries is leading to the degradation of moral values, with rising inequality, intolerance, and divisions along religious, sectarian, and ethnic lines worldwide.
Pakistan remains steadfast in its support for an independent Palestinian state and has consistently called for ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon. The country has also sent humanitarian aid to both regions.
Highlighting India’s extremist Hindutva ideology, he condemned the atrocities in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the increasing insecurity of minorities in India and abroad. He reiterated the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Pakistan expects the Afghan Interim Government to ensure Afghan soil is not used for terrorism, while maintaining a comprehensive border management regime to secure its western borders.
General Munir underscored that Pakistan will not be part of any global conflict but will continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability worldwide.
The Army Chief highlighted common global challenges, including climate change, terrorism, and global health, and stressed the importance of collaboration to address these issues.
