Lahore High Court held a hearing on the petition on Friday regarding the recovery of journalist Shakir Awan. Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh presided over the session.
During the hearing, lawyer Azhar Siddique, representing Awan, stated that around 20 unidentified individuals entered the journalist’s home during the night. "We request the court to summon a report on this matter immediately," Siddique urged.
The court directed the Punjab government’s lawyer to consult the CCPO Lahore and provide an update. Similarly, the federal government’s lawyer sought input from the Secretary of Home Affairs and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Justice Sheikh adjourned the hearing for one hour, awaiting detailed responses from the authorities.
