The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued a directive for the deputy commissioner (DC) of Lahore to make a decision regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) rally at Liberty Chowk in Lahore by tomorrow.
This development came during a hearing of a petition filed by Advocate Azeemullah Khan, who is seeking permission for the PTI's public gathering on October 15.
Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh presided over the case, and the Additional Advocate General (AAG) Ghulam Sarwar Nahang represented the Punjab government.
During the hearing, the judge questioned the reasons for preventing the PTI from holding their rally, instructing the AAG to reach a decision by the following day and to provide reasons for their decision, whether it allows or denies the event.
The AAG stated that he would request that the DC submit a report in this matter. Expressing displeasure over the absence of the petitioner's senior lawyer, the court adjourned the hearing until the next day.
