Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan stressed on Saturday his dedication to perform well for the country.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday after the conclusion of day two, Khan, who represented Pakistan during the ongoing series against the West Indies, shared his perspective on his today's performance.
"I was looking to bag another wicket; that is why I conceded some runs of late," Khan said.
"I talked about getting out of the domestic cricket despite giving performances," he added.
Despite the challenges, Khan remained optimistic about Pakistan’s prospects in the ongoing series.
He believed the Green Shirts could defeat the West Indies if they managed to post a target of over 300 runs.
"We will formulate our plan after seeing the strategy of the West Indies," he added.
Khan also spoke about his hopes for future opportunities in white-ball cricket. "I will look to learn something new if I get any opportunity to play in the white-ball format in the future," he remarked.
The off-spinner discussed the preparation of spin-friendly pitches, stating that such tactics could prove advantageous for his team. "It is a good omen if the results come in our favour by preparing the spin-friendly wickets," Khan said.
He also pointed out that other nations, such as South Africa and Australia, tend to prepare pitches that suit them against visiting teams. "Even South Africa and Australia prepare the pitches that suit them against the visitors," he added.
