An earthquake late Monday night jolted parts of Karachi, according to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad.
The earthquake was felt in different areas of Karachi including Shah Latif, Landhi, Muzaffarabad Colony, Muslimabad Colony and others.
People came out of their homes in panic.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 on the Richter scale occurred near Quaidabad, Karachi, at a depth of 15 kilometres.
A magnitude 3 to 4.9 is considered minor while shallow earthquakes are between 0 and 70 kilometres deep.
There are no reports of any damage or injuries caused by the quake.
Further, an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale jolted Swat and its adjoining areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province late Sunday night.
Meanwhile, no loss of life or property was reported from any part of Swat.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicentre of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush Mountains range area at a depth of 110 kilometres.
