The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the list of match officials for the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 19 to March 9, 2025.
The tournament, which will feature 8 top-tier teams, will be staged across four iconic venues — Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, as well as Dubai in the UAE.
The prestigious event, spanning 15 matches, is set to see some of the finest officials in world cricket oversee the action.
A distinguished panel of 12 umpires will officiate the upcoming tournament, with six returning from the 2017 edition, including veteran Richard Kettleborough, who took charge of the final during the previous Champions Trophy held in the UK.
Kettleborough, with 108 Men’s ODIs under his belt, is one of the most experienced figures in world cricket officiating.
Joining him on the panel are seasoned officials Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel, and Rod Tucker, who all officiated in the 2017 Champions Trophy.
Dharmasena will also make history, extending his impressive record of 132 ODIs, the most for any Sri Lankan umpire in the One-Day format.
Other notable umpires in the panel include Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf, and Joel Wilson, all of whom officiated in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad.
The match officials will bring their wealth of experience from various global tournaments, ensuring top-notch officiating during the much-awaited competition.
The panel of match referees will be led by David Boon, Ranjan Madugalle, and Andrew Pycroft, who are part of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.
Boon officiated the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy, while Madugalle and Pycroft both have extensive experience in high-profile ICC events.
