A video surfaced online showing a woman losing consciousness mid-air while bungee jumping from a high cliff. The footage was shared by an Instagram user, with a misleading caption stating, _"Nora Fatehi, famous Bollywood actor death – bad news for Bollywood."_ The post quickly gained traction, racking up over 18 million views before being deleted.
Many fans initially fell for the hoax, as the video was widely shared across multiple platforms. However, some observant users pointed out that the woman in the video was not Nora Fatehi. Investigations later confirmed that the actress was safe and that the viral clip was unrelated to her.
Fact-checking the viral hoax
Social media users soon debunked the false claims, calling out the spread of misinformation. One user commented, _"Zoom karke dekha, yeh woh nahi hai,"_ while another criticized the creator for misleading people, saying, "Shame on you for spreading fake news just for attention."
It was also discovered that the person behind the hoax frequently shares similar fake news about celebrities to gain views.

Despite the viral controversy, Nora Fatehi remained focused on her career. Just a day before the hoax went viral, she had posted a video on social media, thanking her fans for their love and support for her new song, ‘Snake,’ in collaboration with American pop star Jason Derulo.
On the professional front, Nora is set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming rom-com series, ‘The Royals’, alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Ishan Khattar. She is also reportedly working on major film projects, including ‘Kanchana 4’ and ‘KD – The Devil’.
This incident once again highlights the dangers of misinformation on social media and the importance of fact-checking before believing viral claims.
