Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir addressed a gathering of university and college students from across Pakistan, encouraging them to focus on academic excellence, skill development, and national progress.
The army chief urged the students "to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits and to develop skills that would enable them to contribute positively to the country's progress", according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
During his interaction, the army chief praised the energy, creativity, and innovation of the country’s youth, emphasizing that they are the future leaders of Pakistan. He encouraged students to equip themselves with knowledge and expertise to contribute positively to the nation’s growth.
General Munir also shed light on the external challenges facing Pakistan, particularly the threats posed by trans-border terrorism. He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Acknowledging the sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism, the COAS expressed deep appreciation for their resilience and steadfast support for the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
Emphasizing the importance of national identity, General Munir urged students to embrace ‘Pakistaniat’ -- a sense of pride in Pakistan’s history, culture, and values -- as a key element in their intellectual and personal development.
