Oppo is gearing up to launch the Find N5 on February 20, and it’s already making waves as the world’s thinnest book-style foldable when shut.
While Huawei’s Mate XT may be slimmer when fully unfolded, the Find N5 takes the lead when closed—thanks to its two-panel fold, rather than Huawei’s trifold design.
Ultra-thin yet strong
Holding the Find N5, the first thing to notice is its incredible thinness. The USB-C port, positioned just millimetres from the edge, redefines the boundaries of slim smartphone design.
Despite this, the phone feels sturdy and well-built. The phone doesn't creak or bend easily, and while durability tests will reveal its true nature, it certainly doesn't feel fragile. Oppo even showcased its strength by placing a 20 kg kettlebell on it.
Invisible crease
Oppo has made impressive strides in reducing the display crease. While it still exists, it’s barely visible unless the light hits at just the right angle, and it’s almost impossible to feel when running a finger across the screen. This is a major step forward in making foldable feel more like traditional smartphones.
Design & colour options
The Find N5 will be available in Satin Black and Jade White, with a Purple vegan leather edition exclusive to China. Oppo’s ColorOS ensures powerful multitasking capabilities, similar to its predecessor, and Oppo has retained the textured mute slider in the upper right corner for convenience.
Flagship power & features
Under the hood, the Find N5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, ensuring top-tier performance. It boasts IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance, making it one of the most durable foldables. Additionally, the device supports both wired and wireless charging.
Global availability
The Find N5 launches in China and international markets, but there’s no confirmation of a US release yet. However, given that the Find N3 arrived in the US as the OnePlus Open, a OnePlus-branded Find N5 could be on the horizon.
With its ultra-slim design, durability, and premium features, the Oppo Find N5 is shaping up to be a standout foldable.
