The hearing of the Toshakhana 2 case against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi has been postponed until February 27. Court staff informed the defendants' lawyers about the adjournment.
The case was scheduled to be heard Monday (today) at Adiala Jail. PTI founder’s lawyer, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, stated that the Special Judge Central’s court staff called to inform them that the hearing would not take place today. Without any proceedings, the case has now been adjourned until February 27.
So far, statements from eight witnesses have been recorded, while cross-examination of the seventh witness, Qaiser Mehmood, by the PTI founder’s lawyer is still ongoing.
Following the postponement, PTI founder’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry tweeted, noting that the hearing of the GHQ attack case had also been postponed until February 26. He expressed concerns over the sudden adjournments, raising doubts and fears regarding the health and safety of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
He further stated that in the past, the PTI founder was subjected to solitary confinement and inhumane treatment during such restrictions. The legal team has demanded immediate access for lawyers and family members to meet PTI founder and Bushra Bibi to inform the public about their well-being.
