The Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), operating under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has launched a comprehensive agricultural transformation program focusing on sustainable farming practices and technological advancement across Pakistan.
The initiative has established 25 Green Agriculture Malls and Smart Agriculture Farms across Punjab, with model farms in Perowal and Muzaffargarh serving as demonstration centers for modern farming techniques. These facilities aim to educate farmers about contemporary agricultural practices and sustainable farming methods.
In Cholistan, GPI has initiated projects to convert barren land into arable territory through the implementation of advanced irrigation systems. The program emphasizes the adoption of modern machinery and sustainable farming practices to enhance agricultural productivity.
"The transition from traditional to corporate-style agriculture represents a significant shift in Pakistan's farming sector," according to the initiative's framework. The program integrates quality seeds, modern technology, and efficient water resource management to boost crop yields.
