Renowned Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle on Friday extolled the Afghanistan’s efforts for rebounding their innings against Australia in the 10th match of the Champions Trophy at the revamped Gaddafi stadium in Lahore on Friday.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bhogle said: “Everyday my admiration for Afghanistan goes up.”
He acknowledged the batting prowess of Sediqullah Atal; Bhogle said, “Yes, Sediqullah Atal was a bit lucky early on but he rode that beautifully.”
Bhogle praised Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, saying, “And Azmatullah Omarzai looks better every day.”

Australia powered to the semi-final after the 10th match against the Champions Trophy was interrupted due to the rain at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.
According to details, Australia were off to a flying start during their 274-run chase against Afghanistan. The Aussies had compiled 109 with the loss of Matthew Short (20) in 12.5 overs before the torrential rainfall in the Punjab’s provincial capital stopped the game.
Travis Head (59 off 40) and Steve Smith (19 off 22) were on the crease before the rain stopped the match.
