The German Consulate in Karachi has announced revised operational hours for passport collection during the holy month of Ramadan, adjusting its schedule to facilitate applicants observing the month-long fasting period.
According to an official statement, the consulate’s passport collection hours will now be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, for the entire duration of Ramadan, which is expected to conclude by March 31. Normal operating hours will resume after Eid-ul-Fitr.
The adjustment comes in line with routine changes observed across both public and private sector entities during Ramadan, aimed at easing services for citizens in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the United States Embassy has also introduced changes to its online visa appointment system. Under the revised framework, applicants must now create a profile before scheduling an appointment.
The update coincides with reports suggesting that the Trump administration is considering imposing new travel restrictions on multiple countries, including Pakistan.
While an official announcement is expected next week, experts believe the White House may introduce stricter entry requirements for Pakistani nationals seeking US visas.
