The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has postponed the hearing of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi’s sentence suspension appeal in the £190 million case until after Eid.
A two-member bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, was hearing the case.
However, due to the absence of the lead defense lawyer, advocate Shuaib Shaheen requested the court to schedule the hearing at a later time, as the main counsel was coming from the Supreme Court.
In response, acting Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar stated that the case would be scheduled after Eid.
Meanwhile, advocate Shoaib Shaheen and Salman Akram Raja argued that the court had ordered jail authorities to allow meetings with the PTI founder, but the prison officials refused to accept the list of visitors provided the previous day.
IHC CJ assured that the written order for the meetings had already been drafted by a bench member and would be signed as soon as it reached him.
