Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney has reportedly called off her wedding to fiancé Jonathan Davino, amid growing tensions in their relationship.
According to a report by The Daily Mail, the 27-year-old actress, known for her role in Euphoria, has been in a relationship with 41-year-old Davino since 2018, with the couple getting engaged in 2022. However, recent reports suggest that the two have been facing difficulties, leading to the decision to halt wedding plans.
Citing sources close to the couple, Us Weekly reported that while Sweeney and Davino have decided to call off their engagement, they have not officially ended their relationship. “Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split. Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now,” the insider was quoted as saying.
The couple was reportedly set to marry this spring, but all plans have now been put on hold. The source further revealed that the primary reason behind the tension is Sweeney’s demanding work commitments, leaving little time for their relationship.
“Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress. A lot of their issues stem from her being extremely busy with work commitments,” the source added.
Sweeney, who is set to return to Euphoria alongside several other high-profile projects, is said to be prioritising her career at the moment. “She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together,” the insider explained.
The source also suggested that increased media speculation about Sweeney’s on-screen chemistry with her co-stars adds further strain to the relationship. “Things are always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her co-stars. It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan,” the report noted.
