An explosion occurred near a police van on Quetta's Double Road, resulting in the killing of three persons and injuries to 21 individuals, including police officers.
Four injured people are in critical condition.
The injured have been transported to Civil Hospital for medical treatment. The blast caused damage to the police vehicle. According to police reports, the explosive device was planted in a motorcycle and detonated as the police van approached.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the firing incident on passengers in Kalmat, Balochistan. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives, the president and premier extended condolences to the victims' families.
The president stated that terrorists are enemies of the country’s progress and the province’s prosperity, adding that they do not want to see Balochistan develop. He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and for strength and patience for the bereaved families.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also issued a strong condemnation of the attack, expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives. He offered condolences to the families of the victims and directed authorities to ensure the best medical care for the injured.
The prime minister ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and stressed that those responsible must be brought to justice. He further stated that anti-state elements are the enemies of Balochistan’s peace and development, vowing that such cowardly attacks will never succeed in their malicious intentions.
