As the end of the third academic semester in Saudi Arabia approached, both students and parents eagerly awaited the announcement of the summer vacation schedule for 1446.
The Ministry of Education officially disclosed that the summer break would commence immediately after the conclusion of the third semester.
According to the Ministry, the last school day of the academic year was scheduled for Thursday, 1 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446, which corresponded to June 27, 2025. Following this, students would be granted a valuable opportunity for rest, travel, and relaxation before resuming their studies.
This vacation would provide them with the necessary time to recharge both physically and mentally for the upcoming academic year.
The summer vacation for Saudi universities differed slightly, as it depended on the completion of the second academic semester. The vacation for universities was expected to begin after mid-Dhu al-Qadah 1446, offering students the chance to participate in summer training or engage in volunteer projects to enhance their skills.
The summer vacation for schools would last until Sunday, 14 Safar 1447, corresponding to August 17, 2025. This break would span approximately 51 days, which was shorter than previous years due to the new three-semester system. Despite the shorter duration, students would still benefit from a well-deserved break before the start of the next academic term.
The implementation of the three-semester system had an impact on the distribution of vacation time throughout the year. Although the summer break had been shortened, students were granted shorter, more frequent breaks between semesters, reducing the pressure of continuous study.
