As the deadline for illegal aliens to return to their native countries, especially Afghanistan, is set to end at midnight on Tuesday, the return of Afghan citizens across the border continues.
Following government orders, thousands of Afghans are returning to their homeland from Torkham and Chaman borders every day.
As per government statistics, 11,553 Afghans left for their country on Monday. Out of these, 3,153 were men, 2,823 women and 5,577 children.
For their onward journey to Afghanistan, 487 families were repatriated in 512 vehicles, and this process continues on a daily basis.
A total of 104,481 Afghan refugees have so far been repatriated.
Meanwhile, in view of the government’s decision made in the Apex Committee meeting, thousands of Afghans are voluntarily returning to their homeland through the Chaman border.
However, impressive arrangements have been made for temporary accommodation of illegal persons in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, as camps have been set up by the government for the aliens.
All necessary facilities are provided in these campus established for the illegal aliens.
Moreover, the Afghan residents have expressed their opinion regarding returning to their homeland. "We are happy with the decision of the government of Pakistan to repatriate the illegals foreigners," said one Afghan citizen.
"We worked in Pakistan with honour, and the attitude of the Pakistan Army is also very good towards us," said another. "We had come without documents, but now Inshallah we will come legally."
Another Afghan citizen said: "We are satisfied with the government of Pakistan. We have not been harmed in any way."
"We had a great time in Pakistan,” another Afghan citizen commented.
