The caretaker government has snatched relief on petrol and diesel prices from the poor. Consumers have been deprived of relief worth Rs6.44 on diesel and over Rs3 per liter on petrol.
Instead of giving relief to the public, the government has increased the profit for dealers and oil companies besides the levy.
According to documents, the ex-refinery price of diesel decreased by Rs5.56, while the levy on diesel has also been increased by Rs5 per litre.
The margin on diesel for oil companies and dealers has been increased by 88 paisas.
Moreover, the ex-refinery price of petrol has been decreased by Rs3.17.
The government has fixed the oil marketing agency margin on petrol at Rs7.87 with an increase of 47 paisas. The dealer margin on petrol was also increased by 41 paisas per liter.
