For the first time since the start of the Gaza War, Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah said the Lebanese group had no prior knowledge of the October 7 operation and emphasized that the assault was meticulously planned in complete secrecy, with even other Palestinian factions being kept unaware of it.
As Israel continues its assault on the Gaza Strip, Nasrallah made his first speech since the beginning of the conflict. He expressed his "condolences and congratulations" to the families of those who lost their lives in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including those who died as a result of Hamas's Al-Aqsa Flood operations inside Israel, which he claims "has sustained on several fronts of combat."
“This conflict is harmonious from a human, moral, and theological standpoint. It is the most apparent, sincere, and honorable, adding that our unshakable conviction, steadfast belief, and unwavering devotion to the cause are our true strengths.”
The Hezbollah leader said that Israel can get back the captives held in Gaza through negotiations, adding that what is happening in Gaza shows Israel’s foolishness and inability because what they are doing is killing children and women.
He called Israel “frail”, saying for a whole month it could not offer a single military achievement.
The Hezbollah chief has not indicated during his speech what Hezbollah plans to do going forward but accused the US of being entirely responsible for the war in Gaza and calls Israel merely an executive tool.
He has asserted that the Hezbollah had no prior knowledge of the October 7 operation. Nasrallah emphasized that the assault was meticulously planned in complete secrecy, with even other Palestinian factions being kept unaware of it.
He further clarified that the operation was entirely Palestinian in origin, carried out by Palestinians for the Palestinian cause, and had no connection to international or regional matters.
“The international community keeps bringing up Iran and its military plans, but the October 7 attack was a 100% Palestinian operation, planned and executed by Palestinians for the Palestinian cause, it has no relation at all to any international or regional issues.”
