Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested, yet again, as claimed by those close to him.
Fawad’s wife Hiba posted on her X account that her husband had been arrested and taken to an unidentified location.

The former minister’s brother and lawyer Faisal Chaudhry also posted on his account that Fawad had been “abducted” from his house in Islamabad while having breakfast by some “uniformed and plain clothes personnel”.

He further claimed that despite his repeated insistence, they did not show any arrest warrant or order.
Fawad Chaudhry has been reportedly arrested in a case registered at the Aabpara police station. The FIR also includes names of other senior PTI leaders.
It has been learnt that after the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry, there is chaos among the other leaders nominated in the case, including Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Sheikh Rasheed, Asad Umar, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Ali Nawaz, Faisal Vawda, Shahzad Wasim, Sadaqat Abbasi, Shibli Faraz, Saifullah Niazi, Shehryar Afridi, Fayyazul Hasan Chauhan, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Asad Qaiser, Zaheer Abbas and Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
Most of the nominated leaders have left the PTI.
An application has been filed for his recovery, while the magistrate has sought a report from the police.
Applicant and brother Faisal Chaudhry said Fawad was illegally picked up by some people around noon on Saturday even though he was not wanted in any case. He sought Fawad’s recovery and orders from the court for his release.
On the other hand, the Rawalpindi anti-corruption department has summoned Fawad Chaudhry and his cousin Fouq Sherbaz on November 6. An investigation against them is underway on charges of corruption in a private housing society in Jhelum in connivance with the administration.
A couple of days ago, PTI leader Asad Qaiser was also arrested in a supposed corruption case.
On May 24 this year, Fawad had parted ways with the PTI soon after a countrywide crackdown on the party was launched in response to the violence that broke out on May 9 against PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest.
