United States (US) President Joe Biden has nominated Pakistani-American citizen Adeel Mangi to serve as a judge in the Federal Court of Appeals.
Joe Biden has officially chosen Pakistani-American citizen, a jurist educated at Oxford and Harvard, as a judge in the Third Circuit of the Federal Court of Appeals, according to reports from the Washington Post.
Once confirmed by the Senate, 46-year-old Adeel Mangi, originally from Karachi, will become the first Muslim judge on the Federal Court of Appeals in the United States.
This nomination follows Biden's appointment of Zahid N. Qureshi over two years ago, making him the first Muslim to the federal district court.
Adeel Mangi was one of the eight nominees introduced by the White House in this recent announcement.
The White House said that the nominee is highly qualified, experienced, and committed to upholding the rule of law and the Constitution.
