Israeli soldiers found a tunnel shaft used by Hamas fighters at Gaza’s Al Shifa hospital, the army said, while the United Nations voiced concern no aid would be delivered to Palestinians on Friday via the Rafah crossing with Egypt, Reuters reports.
The army released a video it said showed a tunnel entrance in an outdoor area of Al Shifa, Gaza’s biggest hospital.
The video, which Reuters could not immediately verify, showed a deep hole in the ground, littered with and surrounded by concrete and wood rubble and sand. It appeared the area had been excavated; a bulldozer appeared in the background.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh expresses confidence in victory
The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas has disproven the Israeli regime's allegation about the resistance movement's running a "command center" underneath the Gaza Strip's largest hospital, which the regime has been using to assault the facility.
Osama Hamdan, the movement's senior representative in Lebanon, debunked the regime's allegation by presenting damning footage during a presentation in Beirut on Thursday.
The footage showed that the regime had been funneling weapons that it had seized during its ongoing war against Gaza across various places into the al-Shifa Hospital, before claiming that it had found them inside the facility.
Playing the footage, Hamdan showed that the regime's forces had been taking the weapons into the facility inside cardboard boxes bearing the label of food aid.
US tells Israel: Do not occupy Gaza
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Thursday that he has told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “there can’t be a reoccupation by Israel of Gaza,” but conceded that “there may have to be a transitional period where […] security is provided for Gaza.”
Speaking to ABC World News Tonight, Blinken said that “when it comes to the future of Gaza, in our judgment, it has to be under Palestinian governance and there has to be security provided as well.”
