A Michigan Lottery gaffe has turned out to be a boon for an Illinois man, who has won a prize worth $25,000 a year for life.
Michael Sopejstal, a regular visitor to Michigan, habitually purchases Lucky for Life tickets during his trips.
This time, a store clerk's error resulted in Sopejstal receiving a ticket with 10 lines for one draw instead of the 10 draws he requested.
As fate would have it, Sopejstal's ticket, purchased from the GoLo gas station in New Buffalo, matched all five white balls in the September 17 drawing.
Upon discovering his win, he was overwhelmed with excitement and began to contemplate his options, including the choice between a lump sum payout or an annuity option.
With his newfound fortune, Sopejstal intends to fulfil his travel aspirations and enhance his savings.
