The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested nine terrorists in view of terrorism threats while carrying out secret operations in different cities of the province.
The intelligence-based operations were conducted in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sialkot, and Hafizabad.
The CTD officials said that two suspects were arrested from Lahore for providing financial support to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Explosive materials, hand grenades, and weapons were seized from the arrested terrorists, the officials said.
They further claimed that the terrorists were planning attacks in different cities.
Last week, the CTD conducted 314 combing operations and arrested 47 suspects.
