A full-scale Airport Emergency Exercise was held at Allama Iqbal International Airport, attended by various internal and external search and rescue entities.
The exercise aimed at evaluating and strengthening the coordinated efforts of PCAA’s internal departments, airlines, and external emergency services. The simulation involved a staged aircraft crash, including fuel firefighting and subsequent rescue operations.
The exercise utilized a Boeing 777 provided by PIAC and also involved the participation of ASF, Airlines Operating Committee, Ground Handling Agencies, several hospitals, emergency services, and government departments.
Pakistan Army Aviation contributed a helicopter and a skilled medical team to the exercise. Throughout the exercise, flight operations at the airport continued as usual. Professional neutral umpires from the aviation and medical fields evaluated the exercise and commended its execution.
The Chief Operating Officer / Airport Manager of Allama Iqbal International Airport expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and volunteers for their active involvement in the exercise, which contributed to its success.
