Even before the announcement by the government of Pakistan, a large number of illegal Afghans started going back to Afghanistan from Pakistan over ‘fear’ of arrest
As per the December 14 report, out of 2376 Afghan citizens, 703 men, 415 women, and 1258 children went back to their country in 235 families in 114 vehicles.
As of December 14, 2023, the total number of illegal Afghans who left Pakistan has reached 431,664 and the return is ongoing.
