Attempts were being made to smuggle these items by hiding them in trucks and passenger buses, which were foiled by FC Balochistan personnel by taking timely action. These operations were carried out in Zhob, Pishin, Mastung, Nushki, Chaman, Dera Allah Yar and the Pak-Afghan border areas. All the items were seized and handed over to the Customs authorities.
The smuggling of sugar and other commodities makes their availability in the market scarce and rates expensive, leaving them unavailable for the people.
Smugglers and vested interests want to protect their trafficking by protesting, but these elements hostile to the state and the people will be eliminated.
The FC Balochistan has vowed to continue to take effective actions to prevent illegal trafficking. They have stressed that all resources will be utilised against those who have harmed the country's economy and to provide relief to the people who are already hit by the inflation caused by smuggling.
