The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore on Tuesday unveiled significant changes to the curriculum for ninth and matric classes.
As of the academic session 2024-26, BISE Lahore has decided to streamline the examination subjects for ninth and matric classes.
Notably, ninth-standard students will now exclusively take Islamic Studies exams, while matric students will focus on the Pakistan Studies examination.
The spokesperson for BISE Lahore revealed that along with this restructuring, there will be a substantial increase in the marks allocated to both Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies.
He added that the marks for these subjects have been doubled, rising from 50 to 100.
In light of the enhanced marks allocation, the Punjab Textbook Board has been tasked with the responsibility of updating and printing new textbooks that align with the revised curriculum.
Furthermore, BISE Lahore has officially announced the commencement date for the Punjab Matric Exams in 2024.
Students can mark their calendars as the exams are set to begin on March 1, providing ample time for thorough preparation.
