The federal govt has recently made a significant decision, allowing only Pakistan State Oil (PSO) to import diesel.
In response, the Ministry of Energy has instructed the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to develop a consensus framework for diesel imports.
In the letter, it was instructed that OGRA to actively collaborating with various oil companies to create a comprehensive framework.
If successful, this collaboration is expected to bring considerable benefits to both the country and the oil industry.
As part of the agreed framework, a list of participating oil companies to be compiled.
Initial consultations have already identified crucial issues that require attention, and efforts are underway to include relevant companies in the framework.
This proactive development is viewed as a positive step towards streamlining the diesel pricing mechanism and fostering cooperation among oil companies for the benefit of the nation's energy sector.
