In a promising development, Canada has informally agreed to welcome an increased number of workers from Punjab, Pakistan.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, and Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon on Thursday.
Expressing his optimism, Chief Minister Naqvi highlighted that the informal agreement opens the door for Pakistani youth to explore enhanced employment opportunities in Canada.
This move comes as a positive step towards fostering economic collaboration between the two nations.
The informal agreement not only focuses on workforce integration but also extends to broader areas of collaboration. The meeting delved into discussions about environmental protection, an aspect of paramount importance given Lahore's current status as one of the most polluted cities globally.
CM Naqvi remarked on the significance of the collaboration, stating, "This informal agreement signifies not just economic cooperation but also underscores the mutual commitment to addressing environmental concerns, particularly in Lahore."
Environmental collaboration discussions were particularly pertinent, considering the alarming pollution levels in Lahore. Both sides are keen to explore avenues to address environmental challenges and work towards sustainable solutions.
