Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari expressed optimism on Thursday about emerging ''victorious'' in the upcoming general elections.
The former president held a meeting with a delegation of the Christian community in Lahore. Zardari and the delegation had discussed matters in connection with the election campaign in NA-127 on Thursday. On this occasion, Zardari claimed: ‘’Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s 10-point agenda will change the destiny of the country.’’
He vowed to safeguard the rights of minorities by enacting legislation in an ‘’effective’’ way if voted into power.
‘’Only the PPP will be seen fighting for the rights of minorities. The PPP and the Christian community in the country are having a strong connection,’’ Zardari said.

Few days back, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf claimed that his party will spring its surprise in Punjab in the upcoming elections, slated to happen on February 8.
Addressing the press conference in Islamabad, Ashraf said: ‘’When any political party does not get a majority in the elections, then there is the option to opt for an alliance with the other political parties’’.
‘’There is no permanent opposition in politics that limits the politicians from negotiating with each other,’’ Ashraf said.

Speaking about his party’s election campaign, Ashraf said, ‘’The PPP is running an excellent electoral campaign.’’
He praised PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, saying, ‘’Asif Ali Zardari has also taken correct decisions during difficult times. Asif Zardari is a great politician’’.
Regarding his election campaign, Ashraf said: ‘’Raja Naveed Bhatti has announced to support me from PP-9.’’
