Several main arteries in Karachi flooded after heavy rains triggered traffic jams leaving many parts of the metropolis without power as the country's largest city has been facing urban flooding each year..
Every year people die from drowning and electrocution.
Heavy rainfall left many parts of the city submerged with rain water including the Shahrah-e-Faisal road, Old City area, Drigh Road, NIPA flyover, and Natha Khan, among others including I.I. Chandragir Road, Sadar, Burns Road submerging footpath.
Rainwater entered houses in New Karachi, Nagan Chowrangi, Golimar, and Garden while water accumulated at many places on Shariah-e-Faisal, citizens stopped vehicles and motorcycles.
The situation remained bleak in Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, New Karachi as dozens of vehicles and motorcycles were submerged in rainwater as authorities did not show up to the aid of the distressed citizens.

The Green Line track in North Nazimabad was also submerged.
There is rainwater around Saddar, II Chand Regar Road, Sindh Assembly, and Governor House, water has entered various departments of Civil Hospital and the gynecological ward of Jinnah Hospital.
Malir, Gadap Town, Sohrab Goth, Gulshan Miamar, Jail Chowrangi, Mangho Pir, Orangi Town, Federal-B Area, Old City Area were also submerged in rainwater while hundreds of feeders and PMTs of K Electric were damaged, many areas were plunged into darkness.
Thunderstorm forecast today
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall was 64 mm in Malir, 52 mm in Quaidabad, 33.6 mm in North Karachi, 29.8 mm in University Road, and 23 mm in Nazimabad.
On the other hand, there is a possibility of intermittent rain in Karachi city today. Water from last night's torrential rain in Karachi is still present in many areas, while rain is predicted in the city today. According to the meteorological department, the forecast is cloudy in the city, there is a possibility of light rain in different areas throughout the day.
Accidents after rain
A young man died due to electrocution in the Lines Area of Karachi, two people were injured when the roof of a building collapsed near Guru Mandir in two people were injured when the wall of Kashmir Road Pak China Park collapsed in Karachi.
Initially, the rescue officials said that no building collapse has been reported in the city so far, rescue teams are present in different areas of the city to help the people.
