Former National Assembly speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart Asad Qaiser denounced on Thursday formation of the government in the Federation and Punjab, alleging it to be orchestrated through enticing tactics targeting their party members.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, where he was denied access despite an Islamabad High Court order, Qaiser lamented the obstruction of their right to consult with party chief Imran Khan.
He vehemently condemned the jail staff's refusal to allow the court-ordered meeting, deeming it a flagrant disregard for legal directives.
Asserting the popularity of Imran Khan and the mandate bestowed upon him by masses, Qaiser underscored the necessity of transparent decision-making processes, rejecting any backroom deals in government formation.
He called upon the Supreme Court to intervene, warning of dire consequences if the judiciary failed to uphold citizens' rights and investigate allegations of misconduct.
Addressing concerns about alliances, Qaiser announced plans to personally engage with stakeholders in Balochistan and Sindh, including Tehreek-e-Labbaik, emphasizing the importance of inclusive dialogue for fostering peace and stability in the country.
