Lahore found itself enveloped in a much-needed downpour as a thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain swept across the city on a winter Friday night, bringing the mercury down as the winter season nears to end.
The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) reported significant rainfall figures across various parts of Lahore, indicating a widespread and much-welcomed precipitation. Neighborhoods including Davies Road, Shimla Pahari, China Chowk, Gangaram, Mazang Chongi, and Partizbarash experienced heavy rainfall, leading to a tangible drop in mercury levels.
In addition to these areas, rain showers were observed in Ichhra, Samanabad, Wahdat Road, Garden Town, Model Town, and Gulberg, contributing to the overall cooling effect throughout the city.
Residents of Kot Lakhpat, Chongi Amarsadhu, Kahna, Walton, and Defence also witnessed rainfall, adding to the relief brought by the sudden change in weather.
The abrupt shift in weather patterns has been met with relief and appreciation from Lahore's residents, who had been enduring chilly temperatures in recent days.
