Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq on Saturday dubbed the recently held general elections "selection”.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Haq said: ‘The masses had denounced the elections, which were all about fraud.”
"First, there was a tradition in our country of plundering the votes, but now the complete results are being snatched,” he added.
Haq asserted: “We have been ruled out of the parliament as our votes have been plundered.”.
Expressing his thoughts about the ECP CEC, he said: “The ECP CEC had not done justice to the masses.”
The JI emir underscored the importance of the labourers in the country, saying, “The labourers are having an important role in fostering the economy as they are the backbone of the country.”

“But due to the ballooning inflation, policies in line with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have also had an effect on the labourers,” he added.
He emphasised the need for the labourers’ uplift, saying, “We are of the view that the welfare card should be rolled out for the labourers.”
– Robust economy –
Haq stressed on Thursday the need for robust democracy.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Haq said: “There exists such a democracy in the country where decisions are made before and elections are held afterwards.”
He recalled the recently held elections, saying, “Even as of now, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has not managed to provide clarification over the delay in the poll results.”
“Though Shehbaz Sharif has not taken the oath as the country’s prime minister, But he [Shehbaz Sharif] is still saying that the country has no option but to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF).”
Deeming the elections as "fraud," she said, “Even the recently held elections were based on rigging like the elections held previously.”
