Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Khawaja Asif disclosed that deliberations are underway within the federal cabinet, with an emphasis on keeping its volume short.
In an interview, Khawaja Asif highlighting the historical context referenced the varying magnitudes of past cabinets. For instance, the cabinet during the Pakistan Democratic Movement's coalition boasted a considerable 76 members, whereas previous regimes, including that of Prime Minister Imran Khan, showcased diverse sizes ranging from 49 to 91 members, added Khawaja.

In response to queries about the Pakistan People's Party's (PPP) potential involvement, Asif underscored the positive impact of multi-provincial representation, advocating for a strengthened federal structure through devolution of certain ministries to provinces.
He endorsed Bilawal Bhutto's proposal for provincial empowerment, stressing the need for robust local governance, especially in urban centers like Karachi.
Regarding the coalition's challenges, Asif emphasised shared interests in governance among allies, highlighting the need for collective responsibility to mitigate potential setbacks.
