Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned of war if India intiates attack, saying, "Whatever step India takes, Pakistan will give a befitting reply."
In his conversation with the Sky News, Asif said, "If India takes the initiative to attack, then there will be war between the two countries." Asif added that the international community ought to be alarmed by the prospect of conflict between two nuclear-armed states.
He said, "India had carried out false flag operations in the past, which he believed had contributed to the escalating tensions." Asif warned that a small act of carelessness could trigger the worst consequences from this growing hostility.
Speaking about the role of international powers, Asif said: "President Trump is leading a global power. The US president has engaged in dialogue over various global conflicts and he can also contribute to diplomatic efforts between Pakistan and India."
